The stallion management module is designed for stallion owners and breeding operations. It covers semen collection records, mare breeding bookings, compatibility assessments, and progeny tracking.

Semen Collections

Track every collection with detailed quality metrics to monitor your stallion's reproductive performance over time.

Collection Fields

• Date — when the collection was performed
• Volume — total volume in milliliters
• Concentration — sperm concentration (million/mL)
• Motility — percentage of progressively motile sperm
• Morphology — percentage of morphologically normal sperm
• pH — semen pH level
• Doses — number of breeding doses produced from the collection
• Notes — technician observations, equipment used, or anything else relevant

Tracking these metrics over time helps identify trends in fertility and guides decisions about collection frequency and breeding schedules.

Breeding Bookings

Manage incoming mare bookings for your stallion's breeding season.

Booking Fields

• Scheduled Date — when the breeding is planned
• Mare Information — mare name, owner, and registry details
• Status — Pending, Confirmed, Completed, or Cancelled
• Fee — the breeding fee amount
• Deposit — deposit amount received
• Method — intended breeding method (live cover, AI fresh, AI cooled, AI frozen)
• Notes — special instructions or arrangements

Booking Workflow

1. Create a booking when a mare owner contacts you
2. Set the status to Pending while finalizing details
3. Update to Confirmed once the schedule and terms are agreed
4. Mark as Completed after the breeding takes place
5. Use Cancelled if the booking falls through

Confirmed bookings automatically create calendar events on the scheduled date.

Mare Compatibility

Rate and document how well your stallion pairs with specific mares.

Compatibility Fields

• Mare — the mare being assessed
• Rating — 1 to 5 stars
• Recommendation — Highly Recommended, Recommended, Neutral, Caution, or Not Recommended
• Notes — reasoning for the rating (conformation match, temperament, previous offspring quality, genetic considerations)

This is useful for return clients and for building a reference of which mare types produce the best results with your stallion.

Progeny as Sire

The stallion's profile includes a progeny section listing all foals he has sired. Each foal links to their own horse profile if they exist in your account. This gives you a comprehensive view of the stallion's production record.
