Horse List

Browse, search, filter, and manage all the horses in your farm.

The horse list is the central directory for every horse in your HorseBook account. From here you can view your full roster, search for specific horses, and navigate to individual horse profiles.

Browsing Your Horses

All horses appear in a card or list view showing their photo (if available), barn name, registered name, breed, and sex. Click any horse to open their full profile.

Horses are sorted alphabetically by barn name by default.

Searching

Use the search bar at the top of the page to find horses by barn name or registered name. Search results update as you type.

Filtering

You can narrow the horse list using filters:

  • Sex — Stallion, Mare, or Gelding
  • Breed — select from 40+ recognized breeds
  • Status — Active or Deceased

Filters can be combined. For example, you can view all active Mares of a specific breed.

Adding a Horse

Click the Add Horse button to create a new horse record. You'll be taken through the horse profile form where you can enter all details. See Horse Profiles for a full walkthrough.

Tip

You can also create horses by scanning a registration paper through Smart Upload. The AI will extract the horse's name, breed, color, sex, and date of birth automatically.

Exporting to CSV

To export your horse list, click the Export button at the top of the page. This downloads a CSV file containing all horse records with their key fields: barn name, registered name, sex, breed, color, date of birth, height, and weight.

The export respects any active filters, so you can export a subset of your horses by filtering first.
